God has been busy. To kick things off, our church's faith based preschool was approved to begin operations by the church at a special called business meeting. After a lot of hard work and prayer, we plan to begin in January 2014--Praise God! I have been honored to be a part of this committee and I am beyond excited to see how God will work through this new program. Second, after much conviction and pull from the Holy Spirit, I surrendered in leading the college age ministry at church. This age group has been near to my heart since my time at college, and the experience with the Lord I had there with amazing people who encouraged me when I was at my lowest. I pray that through this ministry I can encourage other college students that there is more to life than the ways of this world...but a life full of mercy, unfailing love, and hope in Jesus Christ. I think of the three crosses on the hill in Oklahoma daily. How it felt to sit at the feet of the cross, watching children pour their hearts out..kneeling and praying for God to change their lives and heal their past; some of whose parents lived in the casinos instead of at home raising them, those who grew up in homes of neglect and drugs, some of whose family had committed suicide weeks before, or those who pleaded for their parents salvation with tears. At the foot of the cross with people of all ages, gender, and many races praising and seeking the same God. To sit at the foot of the three crosses, and imagine that God would send his one and only Son to die a horrific death for me..for you...for everyone. How can this not change how we live our day to day. He changed my life for the second time that day kneeling at the cross...I pray that I follow as he leads, with full surrender.

Rainy Saturday
Our Saturday began bright and early at 6am, making our way to Glendale Days. We love fall festivals and haven't had the opportunity before to attend this particular one; Grants parents always have a booth so we were going to do some family visiting as well. The rain began as soon as we got out of the car and headed towards the downtown area. Umbrella in hand, we ventured through the crowds, neck to neck with other umbrella bearing tourists. After visiting with family however, we decided to call our trip to Glendale a day and head towards the bigger city for bagels and coffee, another favorite!
Saturdays are, and have always been, my favorite time to spend with my husband... especially in the Fall! With busy lives during the week, we often miss out on time to sit down and enjoy each other without the stress of life in the background. Although we have been together for the biggest part of 10 years total, we still find things to talk about and share with one another. That to me, is one of Gods greatest blessings He has given us.
Another part of most Saturdays we take advantage of is spending time with the kids, the wild kids!! While the rain stayed most of the day, they were forced to play inside; attempting to tear the house down but having fun in the process. While I sit in our living room, creating what hopefully is the first of many blogs to share our life, I soak up Gods blessing all around. The rain has stopped and the sun is shining through our windows, my better half is napping with one dog in his lap and one at his feet, and a song singing of Gods love and forgiveness is playing in the background....Blessings overflow on this "rainy" Saturday. God, please keep them coming our way!
